The library offers free rental of WiFi hotspots to any patron with a valid Monroeville Public Library card and photo ID. Your library card must be in good standing. Hotspots are loaned for 2 weeks without renewals. You may return and re-check out your hotspot if there are no active holds.
The hotspot offers free WiFi internet - use it with your tablet, phone, computer, gaming system, etc. It's perfect for camping trips, visits from the grandchildren, and more.
Board Policy:
- Patrons must be at least 18 years of age with a library account in good standing, with no lost or billed items charged in order to take part of our Hotspot lending opportunity. Hotspots are available to Monroeville Public Library card holders only.
- Hotspots must be returned to the circulation desk, not the book drop. Hotspots can be placed on hold with only one hold per account. Patrons may only borrow one Hotspot per household at a time. The Hotspot will remain on the hold shelf for two days. If the Hotspot is not picked up, it will go to the next person on the hold list.
- Hotspots can be borrowed for two weeks with no renewals. Repeated late returns will result in loss of Hotspot borrowing privileges. If the Hotspot is not returned, its wireless service will be discontinued. The Hotspot will be unusable, and the borrower will be charged for the full cost of replacement. Please return the Hotspot and all its items on time for the next patron to use.

- All the components of the Hotspot kit must be returned at the same time. The Hotspot will be considered late/overdue until all parts of the kit are returned which will affect your ability to borrow a Hotspot moving forward. A late fee of $5.00 per day will be added to the patrons library account until the Hotspot and all its contents are returned.
- The library does not guarantee that the wireless network will be available and the library is not responsible for outages and/or connectivity issues.
- Parents or guardians are responsible for the use of the Hotspot by minors.
- The library is not responsible for any liability, damages or expenses resulting from the use or misuse of the device, connection of the device to other electronic devices, or data loss resulting from the use of the device. Any use of the device for illegal purposes, unauthorized copying of copyright protected material in any format, or transmission of threatening, harassing, defamatory or obscene materials is strictly prohibited.
